No time for photos

Busy weekend - in additon to working on a wedding for this Labor Day weekend, I also had to help out with my God Childrens' bday party. What I didn't do - is allot time for picture taking. I am posting anyway because the party was super sweet and super fun.
This was the drink area. Purple, pink and green striped straws in mason jars with lemonade.

This picture just sucks all the way around. But the table looked great in real life. The cake plate was wrapped in paper and then the cake looked like a mushroom. Oh well.

Not pictured - all the activity tables and strung lantern. I bet I hung thirty pastel lanterns. Sorry, no pics - maybe someone else took some and I can update later.

Look - it's Her Royal Heinous!
Uncle Kiki asked her to say "Cheese" and got the true HRH expression.

My gorgeous God-Child E turned 5
And her Dapper Bat-man twin brother Blanton

And of course, everyones favorite imp (behind HRH) - Catty

Not my child, or a bday recipient - but still one gorgous gal. Just started walking - love her!

Lesson 3,584 - Spray Painting while Shaving

Ooops. - Working on my first wedding.

So my idea of saving myself from the August heat by laying down paper on my kitchen countertops to paint on, didn't quite go as planned. I am sure most of you smart people would figure that out in advance, but I am exhausted and I didn't. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? The paint dripped down the edges and under the board, Gluing it to the paper and creating a paint ridge.

Hard to see since the paper and the board are the same color. But MAJOR problem. I have to pack up the trailer and leave Wednesday (Thank you Hurricane Isaac). No time for re-dos now.

So I used a razor blade and firmly guided it down the edges of the board.

It peeled right off. I mean, RIGHT OFF. So just incase anyone else is as feeble minded as myself - always keep razor blades handy. Wait. I mean, always keep razor blades at hand. No... that doesn't sound right either.

(The short side hasn't been shaved)

So almost finished project. Board (free) - paint (free) - candlesticks 13.99 for two at Hobby Lobby.

Finally learning how to properly shave - priceless.

Ahhhh - now that vegetable shooters can rest well knowing their bed has been made.
