Great Wolf Lodge

Travel Log - Day 1

10:30am
I didn't go to school today and Mommy is throwing all kinds of things in suitcases.

1pm
I am in the car with a sippy cup and my trusty kitty cat. Who knows where we are going, but they are letting me watch Dora on the TV so it must be a good drive.

4pm
Wake up from little nap and Mommy and Daddy take me inside this HUGE building. There is water EVERYWHERE. I mean, everywhere.

5pm
Jon David is here! We are getting our swimsuits on and going to down to hit the water!

9pm
Guess who else showed up? Elizabeth and Blanton and my Godparents! This can't get any better. The entire place is covered in water. There are volcano that spray up and slides galore. I went down a yellow slide ALOT and Mommy and Daddy caught me at the bottom. Elizabeth went down the BIG slide and Jon David had the most fun in the wave pool. You sit in an inner tube and waves appear like magic.
And every now and then this enormous bucket at the top of the ceiling tips over and drops water on everyone.

Daddy got us Pizza and we went back to our suite and all took our baths together. Blanton teetee'd on the floor. I dumped water on Jon David's head.

Travel Log - Day TWO
8am
Slept a little late this morning, which turned out to be OK with Mommy and Daddy. Then we went down for Breakfast with everyone and PIGGED OUT. There was fruit, cereal, pancakes, muffins and Mommy kept eating something called Eggs Benedict and then complaining about how her swimsuit fit. Adults are so strange.
Next stop - WATER PARK

1pm
Just got done with lunch and the water park. Daddy took me down the lazy river, I played in a hot tub and I went down slides. I got in the wave pool with Jon David and the Twins, until someone (not us) pooped in the pool. Then it got closed for a while.
Elizabeth and I had matching swimsuits - don't we look cute?

And here are Elizabeth and Blanton - our parents kept making us all hug...how annoying.

We went to lunch at a grill and now we are back in the room ready for naps. I can't wait to wake up and see what is going to happen next!

9pm
Daddy tried to make me go down a big girl slide. I refused.
But I didn't mind watching Mommy, Aunt Kiki and Aunt Ray Ray going down. They were laughing so hard it made MY belly hurt.
I'm not one for posing - or acknowledging there is a camera around - but Mommy did grab at least this ONE shot of me.
Then Aunt Kiki helped me get dry and we had a good chuckle. Mostly over me slapping her in the face imediately before this picture was taken:

Daddy took me to the arcade after and I really like skeet ball. I didn't score a lot of points, but people really cleared a path for me when it was my turn.

After dinner we back up to take our baths and put on PJs. Then back downstairs for Pajama Story time. There was a racoon that talked and squirrels that came out of trees - and the trees had eyes and mouths! Then Wiley the Wolf came out and ready us a story. I may not look like I was into it, but I had a great time.

Travel Log - Day Three
10am
We went down and had breakfast and now Mommy is throwing everything back into the suitcase.  I guess this means we are going home.

2pm
Mommy and Daddy took me shopping at the mall and got me a Hello Kitty suitcase that I can roll myself. And a really big, messy sucker. Then we had lunch at the RainForest Cafe.
There were stars above us, and birds all around. And it was raining INSIDE. I loved the Elephants and how they waved to me with their trunks, but my favorite part were the fish. I saw TWO Dory's!

I am pooped - but it was a spectacular mini-vacay. Can't wait to get even bigger and go back and tackle those slides.

Big GIrl Room in progress

I love my big girl room - and last night Mommy did a little painting and started getting things together. She is such a good little worker.

She made some garland for our Easter Egg hunt that will be held at our Camp this year. But, she couldn't resist hanging in my room. My shelf was the same color as the bottom of my walls, but she painted that to match the background so it wouldn't stand out quite so much. Daddy didn't like it, but he was flying so she did it behind his back.

My prints are all by Terri Windling - and they are SIGNED. She works for a wonderful organization called Endicott Studio. When you donate X amount of dollars you get a signed a print by her. My favorite is the one of the left, entitled "Tea Time"

If you like them, you can make order one via a reasonable donation here. The money goes towards homeless and at-risk children. Take a minute to check it out, not everyone is as blessed as we are.

Mommy still has a lot to do in my room - but I am starting feel comfy cozy in my big girl bed.
I can't wait for Mommy to put up my Monogram - she found that from Amy at All The Little Things

And despite Mommy's best efforts - it looks like I will get to have a TV in my room. She is still putting her foot down on any cable, but at least I can watch Da-Da-Da-Da-Dora in my room soon!

Ba-ba-ba-ba baaad

Mommy makes me do a LOT of stuff I would prefer not to. Such as: breathing treatments, changing my diaper, taking naps, not biting the dogs...

So yesterday I decided to put her in her place once and for all. So I lured her into my new Big Girl Bed, rolled her over and SPANKED HER. Yes, I spanked Mommy.

And I am pretty sure it made an impact.

Then we played Ring Around the Rosie again.

Queen Bee indeed!

Look what my JennyClaire made me (that's my Grandmother)! I can't wait to wear it on Easter!

Don't you love my Bee Crown???

See what else she is up to here

I'm getting a little bit bigger

Saturday I slept in a BIG GIRL BED!

Mommy set it up for me and even got in bed with me.  Next thing I knew it was morning and I could get up whenever I wanted! (which is rarely before 8am)

What? How do YOU Sleep?

Sorry my room doesn't look very cute. Mommy hasn't taken out my crib yet and my room is overflowing with furniture.

Oh and by the way, I have Pnemonia. I know... right? I sound fine! This means I am back up to three breathing treatments a day. I hate breathing treatments. I hate hospitals more though, so I suppose I should be grateful.

Happy St Paddy Day (almost)

I am not one who enjoys being the center of attention...teeheeheehee

Daddy installed a stereo in GDiddy's new Polaris for him, so Daddy thought it would be fun for us to all ride in the St Patrick's Parade.

For those of you without a redneck dictionary, A Polaris is an extra large ATV. two bench seats and an open back for corn (or ice chests). Similar to a Rhino, which only has one bench seat and broke Daddy's leg last year.

It was a GORGEOUS Saturday, 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. I LOVED riding in the parade - I waved and waved until my arm was sore. I threw beads, then we ran out so I started throwing my snacks and anything else that was handy.

After, we went over to Paddy's for his annual St Paddy's Party. All my besties were there and we REALLY loved playing in the fountain:
It is exhausting having as much fun as I do. But, how can you not when you hang with all these crazy kids??

Can you tell which one is ME???

We all took a bath together, so we were all sporting Paddy's PJs. His Mommy sure has a LOT of washin' to do today I bet.

Then TB came come with us and spent the NIGHT! We got to stay up late and eat strawberries. And I swear I didn't mean to hit him with that golf club. Honest.

Queen Bee - Houdini

So.... guess what I did last night?

I ESCAPED from my chains and deftly monkeyed my way out of my crib - all by myself!

I tried to tell Mommy that I wasn't ready for bed, but she just wouldn't listen. Well, I guess she started feeling bad and decided to rescue me. But I didn't need rescuing. I am no damsel in distress - no siree.

Imagine Mommy's surprise when she opened my door and there I was standing like a deer in headlights.

So I got to sleep in Mommy & Daddy's bed with them (after I spilled an entire glass of water on their tempurpedic mattress, something about the smell of mildew really gets me tired). I am quite the bedhog.

And to top off a wonderful night - a WONDERFUL morning. I slept until almost 9am and Mommy didn't make me get dressed and go to school. She took me to the doctor instead - I love my doctor!

I don't love shots. Not even a little bit.

So it looks like I have to be back on those boring ole breathing treatments again. Thats ok though - I'll kick these lung problems in the tush soon enough. I ALWAYS get my way....

Sign of the Apocalypse?

The  Saints won, it snowed in Louisiana and now Uncle Kyle won the Oscar pool. I have my eyes fixed on the windows for the horsemen...

Everyone looked fabulous - Kevin and Daddy wore tuxes. Mommy and her friends wore pretty dresses. I just wore my leather pants and a pink t-shirt. I spent most of the evening trying to watch Dora over all the shouting and screaming.

And the cake:

(Mommy said his name was Oscar, but I thought he looked more like King Tut)

Blackberry Champagnes! (didn't get to taste)

Better Luck Next Year, Uncle Kyle

So for as long as I can remember (round about two years) - Mommy has REALLY been into movies. For Valentines Day they ditch me and head to a bigger city so Mommy can see all the Foreign flicks on the ballot. (She has an ENORMOUS crush on Gael Garcia Bernal, a fact that doesn't sit well with Daddy)

I digress.

Mommy likes movies. So does my Uncle Kyle and his brother Kevin. I mean, they REALLY get into it. I am not allowed to repeat most of what is said, but Mickey Rooney was not in good standing last year with one of the brothers.

So every year they get together for the Oscars. Or is it the Academy Awards? I can't remember, if Dora isn't involved I lose interest quickly. Speaking of Dora...

Again. I digress.

The Paynes versus The Chandlers - here will be setting this year:

The Kitchen table is losely based off the colors for this year's Govenor's Ball. The flowers were all 1/2 off at the florist on Saturdays -score for Mommy!
Moet & Chandon is the OFFICIAL champagne of the Oscars this year - Mommy printed some photos from the internet. The "Oscar" letters she got from Hobby Lobby.
Twig & Thistle were generous enough to share their AWESOME printable ballots! As well as some other Academy Award goodies that aren't pictured.
Mommy used double sided tape to put the fake champagne labels on Crate & Barrel vases.
The menu this year? Sorry Mr Puck, no mini angus sliders - Mommy was restricted to Sam's Club apps.
I like how the paper oscars look inside our lamps - they flank the sofa/nominee table.
The entrance - Mommy had faux crystals from a few years back Christmas Tree (before my time). There are also purple curtains hanging that are not pictured.

Biggest arguement of the evening? It will be the lottery.
The lottery was implemented three years ago. Half of the money goes into the lottery - and you get an entry for each category you get correct. Only get one right? Still have a shot at the lottery. The fairness and equality of the lottery is debated every year (after Mommy or Daddy win!). Yet every year it returns.
More details and better pictures tomorrow.
I hope Uncle Kyle cries again this year.
